Christmas Time!

This post is not going to be filled with a lot of reading, but instead photos. I'll explain some things along the way but here is a "snapshot" of what our past two weeks have entailed!

Going to the Nutcracker Ballet
.
David and Ella had requested to see the Nutcracker after hearing and loving the songs for several years. I was able to get a good deal on some tickets and I took Emily, Ella, David and my parents along. We were also able to get a special backstage tour thanks to the wife of one of the doctors that I work with (she was in the ballet)!

These two had a hard time staying in their seats, they were enjoying the music so much they wanted to get up and dance to it!

David's assessment of the ballet! He enjoyed it so much that at one point he was screaming during the applause and I had to remind him that we were not at a football game!

To wrap up this blog I thought I'd share a few stories from the past two weeks....
.
.
I had the unfortunate luck to go out to my car on the 23rd to go grocery shopping and find that the battery was dead. After thinking some not very nice things I decided to turn this into a good teaching lesson. If any of you know my husband, we have an abundance of cars in our barn. I simply went back there and started one up to jump my minivan. I then went inside to get our newest driver (Emily) and show her how to jump a car. I must explain that I was never formally taught how to jump a car but used my many experiences with Jason with cars in many states of disrepair to observe what was done. I'm not sure how much Emily picked up of this lesson, she was still in pj's and there was a few inches of snow on the ground. However, my lesson was a success and I got the minivan going and went to the grocery store.

Also, I had a facinating conversation with Masamo. He was in the bath recently and I was quizzing him on his colors. My curiosity was piqued and I decided to ask him the color of his skin. I was simply wondering what his response would be. He looked at me and said "skin". I then asked him what color my skin was and he again responded "skin". I am so happy that he does not distinguish between our skin colors yet. I know that at some point he will become aware of it but it's nice to know that he doesn't see it and it doesn't matter to him at this point. I truly wish that the color of our skin did not matter to anyone. The amount of melanin that the Lord created us with really does not matter, it's just one of the many variations He provided. I love Masamo's dark skin. It is so beautiful to me and I hope that he loves it too and can some day appreciate just how handsome he is and how special God made him.
